Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU)

Travelers visiting Puerto Rico from the U.S. arrive at the lower level of the airport and must walk a few steps towards Terminal A or B to claim their baggage. Passengers then exit to the airport’s public area to catch a ride to their destination.



No passports or immunizations are necessary for a U.S. citizen traveling to San Juan.



Mask usage is highly recommended on airplanes and in airports. For questions regarding the airport entry process, travelers should contact the Health Department at 939-592-5115 or infoviajeros@salud.pr.gov.





Car Rentals

If you’re looking to rent a car to travel the island in your own vehicle, there are many different car rental companies at the airport that can accommodate the specific needs of your visit. This arrangement can be made before your visit or upon arrival.



For people traveling from the U.S. mainland, renting a car in Puerto Rico is the same as stateside; you need to be 25 years or older, have a valid driver’s license and a credit card. Street parking can be scarce at times but check with your hotel about on-site parking pricing and availability.



At our venue (La Concha) the current parking fees are $15.00 special rate for self-parking for our event (regular rate is $4.00 first hour and $3.00 each additional hour) and $25.00 for Valet.



Taxis

Taxis can be found when exiting the airport through Terminal B and C. The airport has taxi dispatchers that advise the passengers about the costs of their trips before they get into a cab.



There are other fixed rates for travel between towns and points of interest outside the San Juan District if you want to take a day trip but would prefer not to rent a car of your own.



Rideshares

Rideshares like Uber can pick you up at the designated area on the ground floor of Terminals A and B.



Women in Puerto Rico also have the option of choosing Pink Car, an all-women-driver company that focuses on transporting females and children safely.
